AC & Heater Repair in San Antonio

A Day In the Life of a HVAC Technician

As new homes continue to rise and old homes continue to need HVAC updates, the need for skilled technicians will only increase. Especially in a place like San Antonio where the cooling season lasts around 9 months a year. Homeowners want to know what they are paying for with their HVAC service, so we will give you a behind the scenes look at your technicians daily routine.

  • 9:00 AM: Coffee and a doughnut for breakfast and I am ready to take on the day!
  • 9:45 AM: 1st call of the day to a 4 bedroom home on the outskirts of San Antonio. They were having problems with their system turning on and off too frequently. I was able to tell fairly quickly that it was due to a frozen line and I advised the homeowners on the proper steps. It was a pretty easy job.
  • 11:30 AM: I was about to take lunch when I got another call for a broken down cooling unit. This time it was an older woman in a small home with a window A/C unit. I wanted to get over there right away. We were able to tell that she was low on refrigerant and I actually happened to have some in my truck. Thank god because it was burning up in there!
  • 1 PM: I took my lunch a little later than expected but that made it even better.
  • 2 PM: I was asked to go to a commercial job at a restaurant in San Antonio. I had done work on the place before so I figured it would be best that I was on the job. They were having a problem with their range hood and ventilation so I started doing some digging. I found that their filters were really backed up and I warned them of the dangers that could cause. Hopefully we don’t see any future problems over there.
  • 4 PM: I am getting pretty tired but I have one more job to go to. This time we were giving a homeowner a second opinion on his HVAC installation. He was a nice guy and I gave him the price that I felt was necessary for the job. I didn’t want to lowball him just to sound appealing, and he agreed. We scheduled the installation for the end of the month!
  • 5pm- Midnight: I will be on call in case San Antonio has any HVAC emergencies.
